Kinusaiga is a Japanese "threadless quilting" art form that creates detailed images by pressing fabric scraps into grooves cut into a wooden or foam base, requiring no sewing. Developed from the tradition of repurposing old kimono silk, this technique, often using scrap fabric on insulation board, turns fabric into textured masterpieces.
We will provide sample patterns (inlcuding some fall and halloween themed) but you are welcome to design anything you would like! No sewing or other skills needed.
More info:
-All tools and supplies are included, including patterns.
-You are welcome to bring any fabric scraps you would like to use in addition to what we will supply.
-You will most likely not finish the project during class but tools will be provided to complete your project at home.
Date: Saturday, October 24th, 4-7pm
